Book 4

In my opinion, no one can spend enough time reading.  As C. S. Lewis said, “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”  I am an indiscriminate reader.  I can find a way to enjoy almost all books.  I find they are like people – you can find something endearing in almost every one of them.  So- I like just as much trash as I like the classics.  There is a special place in my heart for fantasy, science fiction and detective novels.  I tend to find myself heading in the direction of fiction more frequently than non-fiction.

I write reviews because school didn’t quite leave me.  How can you read a book and not analyze it, discuss it, and report on it?  My hope is a few of you will read them, from boredom if nothings else, and find something you will enjoy, make you laugh, cry, or tug on whatever emotion you are looking for.  I find most people who don’t read stopped because they were forced to read and never found something that got their attention.  If you fit this category, I sincerely hope you find something here that will start a kernel of love for what I am so obviously obsessed with.  I love my books, they are my friends, and every time I move I battle to keep my books – even if they remain in back breaking boxes because there is no more room on any shelves.

Because life is life, I can not read 24/7 … so e-readers, regular books, and audible books are all welcome in my life.  They all make other tasks more enjoyable, whether I’m playing with my puppies, driving, working, quilting, or (audible gasp) cleaning, etc. – Pretty much everything but yoga and one on one communication.  As much as I would like it to, yoga just does not mix with reading, and people just don’t like it if you are reading while talking to them.  Pity…
